Dear journal, June 9th

I am so excited! Today I'm starting my trip across Canada. I am bringing my orange sleeping bag, my pink & yellow tent, 10 pairs of each item of clothing, I'm also bringing 14 maps, my journal, my Walkman, 2 long books, my favorite CD's of my favorite artists like Duran Duran, Hilary Duff and Jason Mraz. I just arrived back from Quadra IslandMy friend Alysha & I had lunch at the Hariot Bay Inn. There are some great ghost stories there! I'll be learning more as I enter the outside world of 'Creepy Canada!' We also went fishing & swimming at Rebecca Spit. It was so much fun! We brought her Great Pyrenees puppy, Maple with us too. Maple had a great time. As we were fishing, he swam along side our boat. When we were walking down the Rebecca Spit trail, we explored a den. But we ended up tip-toeing out... it was home to a bear family! Maple was also trained to carry his own leash! We had a splendid time collecting seashells on the beach. Maple found one and gave it to Ally!


Dear Journal, June 10th

This is my last day in Campbell River, then it's off to the Yukon! I forgot to tell you that yesterday Alysha found a beautiful plant, but unfortunately it was a little something called poisin ivy! So I left early. (Duh!) Today I spent the day shopping for hiking boots at Spinner Sports. I bought the coolest hiking boots ever! They are fluorescent bright pink with fluorescent green polka-dots! Cool, uh? Not cool enough for ya? How about mini golfing in the snow?! Just kidding. In December I was going to go with my friend Plessa but it was too cold. See you in the Yukon!
